Selling Gold Coins

We've noticed that a fair amount of our customers is looking for some advice on how to sell gold coins. As always we'll try to explain things to the best of our knowledge and common sense. If you are looking to get some extra cash for your coin be it silver, gold or platinum do never rush with it and think twice. To get the best possible deal it is absolutely crucial for you to find out a bit more about your coin. In particular you need to know whether it is just standard bullion coin or something more unique that could bear additional collector's value except for its precious metal content. There are many investment coins, the most common examples include Gold Kruggerrand, American Eagle, Canadian Maple, Britannia and Sovereign. If your coin is a bullion coin similar to those listed it is unlikely that you will get anything more than cash for its precious metal content. Those coins are specifically made for investment and thus are traded purely as an investment vehicle in anticipation of market fluctuations.

We highly recommend that if you suspect that your coin might have some numismatic value you take it to professional who can advise accordingly. Also, do not hesitate to obtain advice from more than one expert it is worth making sure that your coin is what it is being said than selling it for nothing where it could be worth thousands or millions! The Royal Numismatic Society’s site could be potentially a good start if you are looking for more specialised advice. For current gold prices only you can always refer to our home page.
